Through our experience in recruitment, marketing, and sales, we have arrived at certain best practices for Kula Flow messages. Let us understand each one of them as follows.
The number of steps: The number of steps in a Kula Flow should be at least 3 and at most 6. While most replies are received by the 3rd message, accounting for a LinkedIn connection step and a follow-up is reasonable and not a strict rule.
The number of steps we provide with our Blueprints is 5. We give the maximum number of pre-created steps for you to delete or edit a couple of them as per your usage.
Themes to cover
The messages in your Kula Flows should cover a broad range of themes. While the first one would be a quick nudge, the following messages can cover details about:
The role and responsibilities
The culture of the company and the department
The career path and progression
The tools and tech stack they would work within their usual workday
Send on behalf of
The ‘send on behalf of’ feature is an incredibly powerful feature and should be used prudently to have maximum impact. We suggest a sequence of steps with senders as follows:
A cold reach out by the recruiter
A LinkedIn connection request by the recruiter (with a follow-up message)
InMail by the Hiring Manager
Email by the function C-level executive
Email follow-up by the recruiter
Personalization
We have all been copy-pasting mass emails and InMails for long. Personalization in your messages gives you that edge over other recruiters. Personalization through variables is one of the easiest ways to make your messages personal for every candidate.
Use Personalized Subject Lines
Personalized subject lines are one of the easiest and most effective ways to make candidates open your emails or InMails.
You can run tests to find the most effective ones. With testing, you can modify the content of your subject lines based on all the candidates' profiles, interests, ages, locations, and more.
Personalized Email Copy
You have a bunch of personalization variables available with Kula. You can use these variables to make the message sound unique and personalized to every candidate. This is what a well-personalized email looks like:
Hey {{candidate.first_name}},
I am {{sender.first_name}}, the CTO of {{org.name}}.
I believe our recruitment team reached out to you about the Senior Product Designer role. I know you're doing a splendid job at {{candidate.company_name}} as {{candidate.position}} already.
I thought I'll tell you a lil bit more about the way we build our products along with a bit about our culture.
